One of the most exciting walks I have done was day three of the Queen Charlotte Walk on the South Island of New Zealand. Walking along the street I found a telephone box to shelter in. Just as I reached the bottom a heavy spell of rain came down. A couple of years ago I took a walk up the Tor and it was really windy at the top. I love to see the patchwork fields below. The walk up the Tor is so very enjoyable and at the top there are some really picturesque views. I like to visit well stocked health food shops to get some of the vegan food that they sell. ![]() So, tell my about YOURexciting walk.Įven though the weather wasn't all that great you went to Glastonbury and had a superb time. It was lit only by candles and is windowless. At the bottom made my way to the white spring, which is in a building built into the hill. Going back down the hill (the front way) was needless to say easier. Have already bought some welly boots and a rain poncho in preparation! Mud, here I come!!! ![]() Started me thinking about the festival that I would be going to at the end of June. Spent a little while taking in the views through the misty, rainy sodden atmosphere. Reached the top and found a few folks sheltering in the ruined tower of a church that once stood at the top of the tor. It was just as well that I had my wet weather gear with me! You could quite believe you were at sea with the sound of the howling gale!!! The few people that I met on the path were all wrapped up well in their water proofs. ![]() ![]() Today, making my ascent, up the back way, to the Tor, the weather took a turn for the worse, it decided to rain, with the wind deciding to blow quite hard at the same time. When you see shots of the 'Pyramid' stage at Glastonbury festival on TV, the Tor can sometimes be seen in the background! Wanted to go to the whole food shop, to buy a few special foods I couldn't get locally, have a wander round the small, independent, new age type shops and lastly, have a bit of exercise and walk up to the Tor. Last Sunday, which had very changeable weather, after spending the morning in my home town, decided to take an afternoon trip to Glastonbury.
